THE BEAST WITHIN
BY SCOTT KRAFT
CHALLENGER: Oh my God, Malone?
ROXTON: How is he?
CHALLENGER: He's dead.
VERONICA: I'll get us out of here. You'll just have to do something I imagine is difficult for you.
MARGUERITE: What's that?
VERONICA: Trust me.
MALONE: Not going to hang you.
SUMMERLEE: Oh yes, that's the idea. Unless of course, you can bring Lento back by moon rise.
MALONE: Summerlee, I can't let you die because of me!
SUMMERLEE: Then I suggest you hurry.
MARGUERITE: Personally, I think families are overrated. I've always done just fine on my own. More than fine. Drop me anywhere on this earth, I'll survive. I don't need parents. I don't need anyone.
VERONICA: Maybe we're not so different after all.
ROXTON: You ever kill anyone before?
MALONE: I was in the war.
ROXTON: Answer the question.
MALONE: I've seen death.
ROXTON: You're just a reporter, Malone. Killing an animal is very different than killing a human being. To look him in the eye, know you're about to end his life. Just remember…Lento…he isn't human anymore.
