CONFUSION
(Tune: Tramp, Tramp, Tramp)
lyrics by
Helen
It's an easy thing to do
Just to sit and think of you,
Where you come from, who you are and what's your plan.
And then go home thinking still,
I'm the ruler of my will
And my life won't be disrupted by a man.
In this wonderful confusion,
I'm not certain what is real.
For this puzzle I can find
No solution from my mind,
So I'm winging it and trusting what I feel.
In the dark museum one night
We were keeping out of sight,
And I tried so hard to trust you and I did.
And our partnership we found
To be on much firmer ground
As amongst the precious artefacts we hid.
In this wonderful confusion,
I'm not certain what is real.
For this puzzle I can find
No solution from my mind,
So I'm winging it and trusting what I feel.
When we sat beside the fire
Telling jokes to mask desire
And pretending to pretend we didn't care
As the air blazed gold and red
With the things we left unsaid,
Our proximity was more than I could bear.
In this wonderful confusion,
I'm not certain what is real.
For this puzzle I can find
No solution from my mind,
So I'm winging it and trusting what I feel.
When my home was blown apart
And I nursed a broken heart
You were gentle and attentive and a friend,
I was weak and you refused
Your advantage to abuse
And you gave a gift my broken heart to mend.
In this wonderful confusion,
I'm not certain what is real.
For this puzzle I can find
No solution from my mind,
So I'm winging it and trusting what I feel.
