ALWAYS LOOK A GIFT HORSE IN THE MOUTH

Lee is assigned to protect the Prince and Princess of Zaqhir who are visiting the U.S. The Princess is originally from the U.S. and is visiting for the first time since her marriage. Her name is Penelope Squires and she asks for a tour of a local school accompanied by an average PTA mother. Enter Mrs. King!

Penny likes Amanda although she doesn't know that Mrs. King is 'one of them' and invites her to a cocktail party that afternoon. Amanda goes and there is an assassination attempt made on the Royals. No one is hurt.

An old friend of the Prince's called Bo Johnson, arrives and we learn that his wealth comes from drilling oil in Zaqhir. His oil lease is up for renewal but Penny is pushing for her husband not to renew it so that the resources can be used to help Zaqhir and it's people.

Everyone, including Amanda, is invited out to Bo's ranch for the weekend. When they get there, Penny hints that maybe Amanda should get together with Lee as she doesn't see a wedding ring on his finger, but Amanda says that his job is too dangerous. Later, Bo gives Penny a white Arabian horse as a present. Unfortunately this horse is trained to run to the edge of a cliff and rear up, thus throwing the person riding off, whenever Bo blows a silent whistle.

That evening, Penny admits that not all is well between her husband and herself and Amanda imparts some friendly advice. Suddenly, Lee appears outside the window and Penny, thinking that something is going on between them, leaves them to it. Lee enters and they discuss the case but the room is bugged and Bo and his cohort are listening in another room.

The next day, Bo tells Penny that Amanda is a spy and, feeling hurt at her deception, she rides off on the Arabian. Amanda is upset and follows her but can't control her horse properly. Penny sees she's in trouble and helps her, then they change horses because the Arabian is more 'docile'.

Bo sees them from a distance and thinks Penny is on the horse so blows the whistle causing the horse to bolt. In the meantime, Lee has found out about the horse and is racing to find them. He drives up in a jeep and forces the horse away from the cliff edge, thus saving Amanda from certain death.

SCENES TO WATCH OUT FOR:

Amanda explaining how she hurt her foot and asking if she should know how to hit.

There is a running gag throughout this episode about Amanda not looking at Lee when they talk so people don't know she's 'one of them'. One funny moment is at the cocktail party where Lee leaves her talking to herself.

The scene where Lee appears at the window and Penny leaves.

Tag scene - Amanda gets her own back on Lee for the 'non-conversations'.

ROMANCE:

None to speak of in this episode although Amanda getting embarrassed about the Princess suspecting 'a thing' between her and Lee was sweet especially since Lee didn't seem that bothered but her wrong assumption.

QUOTES:

PENELOPE: I notice he doesn't have a wedding ring on.

AMANDA: Oh, no. No, I could never get involved with anybody in that line of work. That's, that's too dangerous.

PENELOPE: Sometimes dangerous can be fun.

AMANDA: Sometimes dangerous can be dangerous.

LEE: So, she said I was cute.

AMANDA: She was under a lot of pressure.

LEE: Amanda, when you're undercover, it is not good procedure to look at me until the assignment is officially over.

(Amanda sighs, but looks forward. She waves good-bye to Penny.)

Does the, uh, princess know you're working with us?

AMANDA: No, but I had to have a reason you were outside my window last night.

LEE: Ah, what did you come up with?

AMANDA: I didn't come up with anything, she did.

LEE: Okay, what did she come up with?

AMANDA: She thinks we're having a thing.

(Lee turns his head and looks at her.)

LEE: A thing?

AMANDA: Eyes straight ahead, Scarecrow.
