Assistant to the arrogant, womanising, American illusionist, Adam Klaus; Jonathan Creek has a unique mind - he can literally think around corners. This trait is extremely handy when it comes to his second 'job' of solving impossible crimes with female, true crime writer,
Maddy Magellan. In fact, it was Maddy that first got him involved with fighting crime and quite frankly, he hasn't looked back since.Jonathan lives in a windmill and is thought of as a recluse but his outwardly shy and reserved demeanor, hides a sharp, incisive, logical mind that very few could compete with when it comes to solving puzzles such as murders within locked rooms, stolen paintings and even an encounter with an alien.

Unfortunately, for all his intelligence, he lacks confidence and this is never more obvious than when he's with Maddy. She's the definite driving force of the two and pretty much always takes the initiative. Lately though, she's started to rub off on him and he's gradually opening up. They are a great team but bicker over the stupidest things - mainly because both believe they are right!
The sexual chemistry between the two has been hotting up ever since they met. Initially attracted to each other, Maddy often teased him and tried to get him jealous, but he usually saw straight through her games and didn't react.
Over the years though, he's gradually fallen in love with Maddy but has never declared it. They eventually slept together while recently on a case but whether they're actually a 'couple' will remain to be seen.
