Housewife turned spy and mother of two boys, Philip and Jamie.

Amanda lives with her two sons and her mother, Dotty, at 4247 Maplewood Drive in Arlington, Virginia. She can talk faster than most people can listen and is slightly scatty but she has an understanding of people that is almost unequalled. Very caring and always happy, she definitely looks for the bright side of things.

She was married to lawyer, ex-husband, Joe King, for ten years until they finally divorced when it became clear that his work abroad for the EAO was taking precedence over his family. It was an amicable parting and they still remain friends.

She dated a weatherman called Dean Maguire for around a year until it fizzled out. It was never made clear why they split but it could probably have been something to do with a chance meeting with a certain spy…

When Amanda took Dean to the train station one morning, still dressed in her nightie with a long coat over the top, she wasn't to know that her life would suddenly take a turn in a whole new direction.

Lee Stetson, a spy working for a covert government organisation called, The Agency, and with the codename of Scarecrow, recruited her to hand over a package to a man wearing a red hat that was seated on the train. She didn't quite believe what he told her but something in his face must have convinced her, for she took the package and changed her life forever.

After solving the case and rescuing Lee, his boss, Billy Melrose, offered her work at The Agency on a part time basis. She accepted and soon put her friendliness and easy going nature to good use. Most people warmed to her instantly apart from Lee and his fellow spy, Francine Desmond, who both felt she was someone to be ridiculed and laughed at.

Her courage and resourcefullness, not to mention her devoted loyalty to him, eventually got to Lee and he fell as much in love with her as she was with him. They were married, but told no-one so as to protect her family and live in the hope that one day they will be able to tell everyone their secret.
