MADDY MAGELLAN

Being a writer of true crime, Maddy Magellan has learnt to be tough and aggressive if she needs to be. She's not above lying and being downright sneaky in order to get what she wants, whether it's information on a case or trying to get Jonathan to help her out.

Maddy never knew her father. She lived with her mother who was a bag of nerves. When Maddy was just 17, her mother was accused of stealing and the case ended up in court. The day after the court appearance, her mother committed suicide by taking the wire from their iron and putting it in her mouth. Maddy came home from work and found her.

She's worked hard to get to where she is today and her outgoing brashness hides a very vulnerable woman underneath. Initially, she hid her emotions so well that Jonathan thought she was extremely selfish and uncaring but a little talk with her editor, who is an old friend, revealed Maddy's past to him and he realised she was just protecting herself against getting hurt anymore.

Not one to show any weakness, she often loses her temper and gets offended at the slightest thing when she takes things the wrong way. Unfortunately, Jonathan is the poor lad who's usually on the end of her foul temper and cutting remarks as he's probably the person she's most closest to now.

Like Jonathan, she's never actually declared her love but she's obviously very attached and her jealousy often causes her to have digs at him and she's even gone so far as to lie in order to put him off of an old flame.

They actually slept together and their bond seems to have strengthened now but it still remains to be seen if they become a 'couple'.
