RANDALL AND HOPKIRK (DECEASED) IS A DETECTIVE SERIES WITH A DIFFERENCE…YOU SEE, ONE OF THE DETECTIVES IS DEAD!
Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased) first aired during the 60's and was unique from the start. The premise that one of a detective duo is a ghost opened up new realms of TV and very enjoyable storylines. Years later, it has been revamped and updated although the that fact that one of the duo is a ghost still remians unchanged.
Predominantly written and produced by Charlie Higson of 'The Fast Show' fame, this new version is fast turning into cult TV as we watch.
Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer take on the persona's of the ghostly
Marty Hopkirk and serious Jeff Randall respectively and are perfect for this offbeat series. Best known for their chaotic, comedy double act, they handle the roles well and are turning in performances far better than I'd ever imagined they would.Add to the mix a romantic twist in the form of an energetic and beautiful, Emilia Fox as Marty's fiancee,
Jeannie Hurst and the always dependanble, Tom Baker as Wyvern, Marty's enigmatic guide in the afterlife and you've got yourself a show that has a bit of everything - including a cameo appearance of Charlie Higson in every epsiode! Here's a really short summary:
Marty Hopkirk and Jeff Randall are best friends and partners in the detective/security services agency, Randall and Hopkirk.
The day before he's due to marry his fiancee Jeannie Hurst, Marty is killed while on a case and comes back for one night to find out who murdered him.

MARTY RETURNS AS A GHOST |
He's allowed to choose one person to whom he can be seen and heard and he picks Jeff. Together they find the cuplrit but because Marty goes back to save Jeff and Jeannie from the killer, he is then rejected by his grave.
This now means that Marty is linked to Jeff until the day his 'chosen one' dies…
